‘I have a diverse interest in almost any subject matter’ and what you would call an ‘eclectic’ portfolio of work, ranging from sculpture to Fine Art painting and Drawing’

My Work
My work is dominated by the perception and overexposure of light cast on a mixture of subject matter, from atmospheric abstract forms within my ‘Illumination’ collection to natural landscapes, and seascapes in the mixed media pieces of the ‘Walking by Water' collection.
‘Walking by Water’ is a far more personal collection that predominately focuses on the use of line, resembling a time of uncertainty and fear, the pieces depict two conflicting sides of my personality from the controlled to the chaotic. The locations illustrated are places I have walked as a healing process; hence the title ‘walking by water’ as water is spiritually known for its healing prosperities and cleansing of the soul. However, the line and negative space still highly focus on light and how the viewer may perceive and interpret the image.
Interpretation and visual perception of light is also a key element of the ‘Absence of Presence’ collection which largely aims to show the sentimental relationship I have with birds. I enjoy observing their fragility, form and in particular the fleeting moments of their presence. These pieces are developed and drawn from taxidermy, where the presence of life is absent, but the overexposure light gives them a life and an element of movement.
